The Sunflower Portrait is painted on a 20 by 16 inch gallery wrap canvas in a realistic representation with artistic attempt to capture as much of the shapes and color that make the flower so beautiful. The use of shadow and light to create the shapes required a lot of color mixing and blending. I am very happy with the end results. I hope your enjoy the work. You can purchase this painting and others at our Bartlett Pair Art website.

Springtime Fields was painted in acrylics on an 8 inch by 10 inch gallery wrap canvas with edges painted black. I was inspired to paint this road side scene along Highway 35 because of the beautiful bright yellow flowers growing in front of the cattle shed and round bales of hay lined up in a nice composition. I brought the scene closer to the viewer and planted more flowers in front of the fence line.
I didn’t know at the time I took the photo, to paint from, a customer and friend of mine owned the property. When she saw the painting on FB, she contacted me to purchase Springtime Fields. So social networking does work! I also want to say Thank You to Cindy for her purchase.
A’s House is my latest commission painting for Terry, a friend I met at an arts and craft show. The painting was done in oils using a reference photo he gave me to work from. I painted the scene on a 12 by 16 inch gallery wrapped canvas with the edges painted black. When the painting dried, I shipped it to Terry in a wooden crate with padding to protect the painting. He sent me a picture where it is being proudly displayed and an email that made my day!
“Just wanted to let you know we just opened the package and are in awe of your masterpiece. It is just like standing at the old home place of my Mother and Uncles. We had so many good times there and all I have to do is look at your painting and relive all those wonderful memories.
I am impressed at the care you took to make sure it arrived unharmed.”
If you are interested in getting your picture turned into a painting, please send me an email for evaluation and I will get back to you promptly. (I reserve the right to turn down a commission submittal)
