Harper is my Great Granddaughter and as you can see she is a beautiful child. And, she has a delightful personality! The photo I used for reference was not in good focus or light, but had a beautiful pose and expression, but was great for getting my sketch on the canvas. Having her to pose helped to get the skin tones and features more accurately. This one will hang on her Mom’s wall next to the portrait of her older sister Klara. I enjoyed painting her so much it was hard to call it finished.

I have started checking my archive files for paintings I did in my earlier years. I find this process interesting and inspiring to review my journey and growth as an artist. The journey is not over yet. I will always feel like a novice yearning to learn more and become a better painter.
